Rem Koolhaas, invited to design an innovative handle, gave, with his OMA collaborators, a "conceptual" answer starting from the breakdown of the handle into its primary functional elements: the hub and the lever. For both, he chose to reduce the use of the material to the strictly necessary and devised a mechanical interlocking union.
